About two weeks ago I had an email waiting for me in my inbox labeled “The Trip is on” I felt pure relief as I read the email informing us that indeed we will be launching January of 2021. The past 4 months have been full of lots of uncertainty as the race seemed more and more unlikely. Even throughout this time God has given me some of the coolest opportunities and It took a while to realize how much He really was in control. In July, I decided to apply for a job up in Estes Park, Colorado, In order to work this job I would be moving into the front office apartment and living there full-time. Throughout the past couple months, this little inn has become my home, a place that pushed me out of my comfort zone, taught me so many skills and allowed me a place to find independence and grow up a little. I could not be more grateful for this time in my life but God has reopened the World Race opportunity for me and it is time for me to seek what the Lord has for me in Nicaragua.
Even a month out, information is still not completely set in stone but here is what I know. On January 3rd, I have a flight booked to Atlanta, Georgia from there my squad and I will get tested for Covid -19 and then proceed to quarantine for the next 3 days. Once we have our negative covid tests we will be able to board our flight for Nicaragua on January 7th! When we land in Nicaragua we will be spending the next week training and preparing for ministry. We are currently in Nicaragua indefinitely with hopes to travel to Costa Rica and Cambodia before the trip ends in June, but, as we have learned this year, God is in control.
During this time, I ask that you pray to heal anxiousness among my squad mates and our families, moving to another country in the middle of a pandemic can be quite unpredictable and can create a lot of uncertainty. I pray that no matter how much time we receive in each country that we will bless the people we come in contact with and show them who God really is. Thank you all for your continuous love and support through this time, every card , text conversation was extremely encouraging.
